Ken Knoechel, Christian Clinical Coach
I’m Ken Knoechel, a Christian clinical coach with graduate-level training who helps Christians feeling stuck, anxious, or reactive recognize the unconscious conflict patterns running their lives. As a licensed professional counselor in Ohio and Tennessee, I bring psychodynamic precision into coaching so you stop analyzing the past and start creating the patterns of the person you actually want to become.
I work virtually with individuals and couples who want more than symptom management. Therapy often keeps you coping. This work shows you the organizing principles underneath the reactivity so you can design the life you naturally desire.
My Journey
My understanding of unconscious patterns began with my own prodigal journey at age 16. The partying and chasing after immediate gratification created a blinding veil over my heart, preventing me from seeing God. By my mid-twenties I experienced significant losses when my mother died suddenly from cardiomyopathy and my sister from a fatal overdose.
At 26 a devastating car accident resulted in multiple injuries, two strokes, and two brain injuries. I spent three weeks in a coma, a forced pause in that journey. This became the pivot. Through these experiences my nervous system is still recognizing how God uses the past to give an exceptional understanding of Him and His way.
Now I observe how God continues changing my heart. I have learned principles that integrate psychological insight with biblical wisdom. They bring you into greater awareness of your relationship with others, with God, and with yourself.
After six years at Kettering Health Psychiatric Hospital and completing graduate studies at Wright State University (undergraduate work at Liberty University), I offer virtual coaching from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
When not working with clients I explore the world with my wife or renovate our home, constantly discovering new experiences that expand our horizons.
How Psychodynamic Coaching Reveals What Traditional Approaches Miss
I identify the unconscious patterns creating the anxiety and reactivity between your mind and heart. Most approaches focus on behavior modification. I help you recognize how defense mechanisms, transference dynamics, and attachment patterns are driving your reality without your permission. When those patterns become visible, healing attachment wounds in marriage and every other relationship stops being theoretical and starts becoming possible.
Your freedom to choose was designed by God. Once you see the unconscious limits on that freedom, your relationships and your reality begin transforming.
This is Christian marriage coaching grounded in clinical training rather than generic advice. You get the same psychodynamic eye I used in psychiatric settings, now applied to the daily patterns that keep you reactive instead of present.

Education and Licensure
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Chemical Dependency from Wright State University and a Bachelor’s in Counseling from Liberty University. I am a licensed professional counselor in both Ohio and Tennessee and certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors.
I Can Help You
It is my desire to create a comfortable, safe environment where we work together toward the life you want.
Female Challenges: Escape impossible expectations and the lies about balance. Find the rhythms that work for the woman you desire becoming.
Male Challenges: Break free from a performance-based identity and cultural contradictions. Discover your true worth so you can lead with strength through service instead of exhaustion.
Relational Intelligence: Begin listening with intent. Develop curiosity and self-regulation so you naturally influence others and build trust.
Personal Growth: See clearly who God designed you to be. Gain self-awareness of your real values and wants so you create your life instead of letting circumstances shape you.
People Pleasing Patterns: Identify the patterns that sacrificed your authentic self for the illusion of acceptance. Learn how to be vulnerably resilient and treat others and yourself with respect without abandoning your own identity.
